I own the BMP, but I'd like to put people who say /notsigned in front of a painful question: are you ok with people not having access to this part of GW? (no need to explain in length that they knew and could have bought it, blablabla, there's enough said here on this, simply answer this question; in the same vein, it'd be like limiting access to SF)
I personnally am NOT ok with this, it HAS to be shared at one point, while still giving an edge to those who made the effort.

so if u want the bonus mission pack sold seperately(for what ever price A-Net ask) just sign here.

/signed, but only if it is $40 or higher. This was better then GWEN and should have a price associated with it.

I don't mind them selling stuff like this separately at all. In fact, I would have preferred that. However, I must admit that if they do sell this separately, since I was primarily a brick and mortar/box person, I definitely wouldn't buy stuff online to fulfill another promotion. I would wait until the promotion item was eventually released. I'm sure that's not what ANet wants to hear, but that's the case. The only reason I did buy stuff online through the in-game store is because I thought I couldn't get the BMP any other way. I other words, their marketing event worked on me.
As an alternative, they should have (maybe they they could have) allowed the PlayNC 30 day cards to apply towards stuff in the on-line store as credit instead of time (could buy time if you so chose). PlayNC cards are indeed sold in birck and mortar stores. This way people can buy 2 30-day cards (30 dollars worth total approximately), use them to purchase 30 dollars worth of items in the store, then given them the BMP. I guess it's still not as 'online' as they want since the retailer gets a cut of that sell, but it's an alternative.
Again for those that couldn't get it because of their parents, welcome to not being an adult. Nobody is going to work around your parents either not letting you use a card online or not giving you the money period. One of those in fact (allowing you to buy something online without your parents permission) is actually illegal in many places, as Microsoft is finding out now. As you get older things will change.

While the original problem still remains that I don't have cc its not anything away from me to have it available to other people.

Right now they have a lot of Gullible gamers that will buy the BMP for $20-$30 or even $40, it's only a Matter of time before the act like the Good ANET and say we gonna sell the BMP, or extend the original offer for a few more weeks.
PS: If you haven't notice.... they MADE sure the weapons were customize, this way you have to Buy the BMP to get the Weapons.

Aye - it was a marketing disaster.
People wanted to buy it. They still do.
The desire to get it wouldn't be lowered if the Bonus was sold in much bigger quantities.
So it was a lost opportunity. They could have reached a bigger market with it - made more money - and they failed to do so.

How many bonus/promos have you ever seen go on for as long as this one did?
I'm quite sure...they made the bux, for their time and effort.

I think they are trying to ween westerners off of brick and mortar stores and into online stores much like their parent in Asia. It may take a few tries but they may eventually do it to some extent. For the most part I think it was a success. I don't think the goal was to make 'more' money or to reach a broader audience. I think the goal was to get part of their audience to try out the online store. Next time they may get a bit more of their audience to do it. Eventually, when GW2 comes out, maybe they expect to have a chunk of their audience buying it and any extras for it online so that they can maximize profit and cut down on the brick and mortar take.
So, I think it worked.
EDIT: I recant my comment about their parent. NCSoft is one of the very few in Korea that hasn't transitioned as well to micro transactions.

I didn't buy it because I have not, do not, and will not ever have a credit card.
I pay with cash first, Interac second (which you can do ONLINE OMG IT'S NOT A CREDIT CARD AND IT WORKS ONLINE!!!)
My money is hard earned and it's mine, damnit. I'm not paying some 3rd party interest rate out the ass just to buy something for $30 bloody bucks.
And no, to address another reoccuring whine in this thread, not everyone who doesn't have a credit card is underage and/or poor. I spent enough money today to put a kid through college. On Interac. If I can go out and buy a new home theatre system on a whim I'm pretty sure I can afford to spend money on GW's online store.
The thing is.. they just don't want my business. If they did, they'd have more payment options.

??? You can use a Debit Card, no interest on them.

Hmm, no one reacted with my suggestion? it was for real, not joke. I think BMP with all the weapons skins could be released completely free in the future, obviously letting current owners of the BMP play and use their weapons as exclusive for a very long time (6 months to 1 year)

Stop trolling about this. Go go debit cards. If you parents are not willing to let you use their debit/credit card to get it, find a friend. I am sure if you present cash to them, they will gladly allow you to use their card, especially if you pitch them an extra 2-3 dollars for the trouble.
If you are 15 or older, get a checking account.... seriously. Time to grow up and start acting your age. Real people don't keep cash in a piggy bank. FDIC, oh how we love thee.

Don't really care about BMP but this is 100% true. People like this (the one you quoted) make GW one of the worst MMO communities I've seen. Unfortunately.
As for separate sale, this will most likely happen as it could be quite profitable - there is no subscription fee + GW is getting old + new MMO's are coming.
However all the people who purchased character slots indeed do have the right to enjoy new content before everyone else. Many of them now finally have the chance to see elite skin weapon wielded by there characters. So exciting.

The BMP promo was on for ages, if you couldnt scrape up enough money to buy one what were you doing? Why should people that buy it within the time constraint be punished (as such), when people who didnt buy it get a second chance? And going through financial difficulties? Well playing Guild Wars, and going on forums is no way to make money.

think of it this way.
The BMP was offered as a REWARD for spending $29usd in the INGAME store. it was basicly a thank you present for spending that money.
now would you be complaining if you bought something from game stop and then went home and saw that the gamestop website had a deal where you get something for free along with the game that you just bought from the store?
argh thats how i see how this BMP is, its a thank you for useing the ingame store.

Why? We were warned three months in advance.
Like some of you already said, I aso like to have game boxes in my possession when I buy a game. And with the announcement of the BMP I thought: Well, I guess because it's a limited offer, I'll go ahead and buy GWEN through the ingame store. I won't get the box, which I love to have, but I'll some nice missions to compensate.
Now tell me this: If A-Net puts the BMP for sale, my purcharse on the store was useless, and I could have bought the game in a real store so I could get the box. If A-Net puts the BMP on sale, I want my GWEN box.
You were warned. Oh, you did'nt know about the weapons? That's too bad, I guess, but the BMP was announced three months in advance. You should have read the website and stayed informed.
The only ones I really feel sorry for are the ones who could'nt buy from the ingame store for whatever reason. But there were three months people. You could have gotten to figure out how you could buy stuff online.
If BMP comes out seperatly, then, there will be petitions for refunds and whatnot. Who, in their perfect sense would buy 3 character slots that serve no good? I would like the GWEN box, but I sacrificed it over to the BMP. If it sells seperatly, I want a GWEN box.
